This one is for you….

This one is for you.

I see you make your way each day to find what you feel like you’re missing. You complete your daily ritual. You look in the mirror and see all the possibilities and all of the emptiness. However, you get dressed and you move forward with a bright spirit. You walk out your door and get in your car and you turn on the radio.”Dang”, that song you’ve been avoiding comes on. You turn it off. You turn that emotion off . You go numb. You call a friend or family member to vacate the silence. You move on.

You walk into your job, people rush to see your infectious smile and feel your warm presence. They compliment your growth and performance. It feels great and then randomly you think about all the people that….lied to you. Are they liars too?

But you press past that pain. You refocus on the focus and you restructure your thoughts. You erase.

You check your social media, you have 200 likes, 3 inbox messages and a timeline of characters that play with reality.

You post a status to solidify to yourself that you’re okay. Even though you feel like you’re not where you should be. No one knows that after the graduations, degrees, internships and experiences… that it’s you standing there, with you.

The rescuer only runs to the one who cries the loudest. You assist in your weakest hour and rise at the moment of defeat. You are the person people forget about.

But… I see you.

You are known. It’s okay to feel all that you feel. It’s okay to not be okay. Young professional changing the world, you are loved. Your vulnerability is a gift. Cherish your tears and rest when you grow tired. Wrestle with the demons of your past and suffocate them. FIGHT FOR YOU!

You’re not fake for smiling and encouraging through your pain. That’s what leaders do. We survive for the suffering. But, I see you. I feel you.

You are not forgotten. You are known. Visible.

It’s okay to think about marriage and the warmth of someone holding you close. Its okay to think about your unborn children. It’s okay to think about the places you will go. It’s okay to smile inside when those thoughts come to mind. You’ve  earned the right to dream about your life. After all you’ve been assisting everyone else shape theirs.

I see you. You are royalty.

#LTR Remember you’re not perfect and that’s perfect He makes all things new.
